How the site makes money, and what it does not do

BacktestScore is not paid by any vendor for inclusion, ranking, or placement. No platform can pay to be included, ranked higher, scored better, or excluded. Scores come from the published methodology and are finalized before any commercial consideration.

The one commercial relationship: Minerva

BacktestScore has a commercial relationship with Minerva (minerva1.com), a strategy-validation platform, run separately, that includes its own backtesting engine. Because it competes in the category we cover, we score it rather than hide it. Minerva is scored on the same published rubric as every other platform, its rigour axes come from a documented engine audit, and its row and its review both carry an ownership note. It leads the ranking on rigour because it genuinely scores highest on that axis; on the all-round score, which folds in breadth and price, other platforms are ahead. Every score cites its source, so you can check the ranking rather than trust it.
